Some people were born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Dolly was born with a brush in her hand. Ever since she can remember she was always drawing, painting and taking classes to better herself. When Dolly was 13 she ended up staying in bed with a cast on her leg, so her mother bought her some oil paints and a canvas to paint on. That’s when she decided that she was going to be an artist. She looked at paper, fabric, and glass to inspire her in what she can do with that empty space to add color to it.
When designing a certificate for someone, she listens to them and asks just a few questions while in her mind she is designing an original for the couple.
The Canopy is painted for the bride and groom, so she looks at fabric in a totally different way. Dolly will wait, look and remember what the bride and groom told her that gave her the inspiration to design the Canopy while they stand under it and say “I do” for the first time.
Dolly even looks at an empty clear glass in a totally different way. The empty space only serves to inspire her to paint a design that any glassware maker would be proud of. Even though that sounds crazy, most artists are truly in a world of their own making them different from most people.
